William & Mary Math Day

October 5th, 2017

Our 21st annual Math Day Conference will be on October 5th, 2017.  The theme for this years conference is "Supporting Struggling Students" with emphases on manipulatives, rational numbers and proportional reasoning, and getting ready for the new SOLs. 

Featured Speakers:

                                            Name:   Tina Mazzacane

                                            Role:  K-12 Mathematics Coordinator at VDOE

                                            We are pleased to announce that Tina Mazzacane will be our                                                             esteemed keynote presenter this year!

 

                                            Bio: Tina Mazzacane is the K-12 Mathematics Coordinator at the                                                             Virginia Department of Education.  Previously, she served in                                                             Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a high school mathematics                                                       teacher, secondary instructional specialist, K-12 mathematics                                                           curriculum coordinator, and secondary mathematics                                                                           coordinator, as well as an adjunct professor at Tidewater                                                                   Community College.   

                                            Name:   Kristina Williams

                                            Role:  Instructional Specialist

                                            Presentation Title: Inside the ADHD Mind - Strategies for Math Class

 

                                            Bio: Kristina currently works with Charles City County Public                                                                    Schools. She has spent the majority of her career in a separate                                                          school facility with students with emotional disabilities where                                                            she taught middle school math. She has a passion for students                                                            with disabilities and a wealth of knowledge within the field of                                                            special education.

We will be having a sharing session, so please bring your favorite lessons and resources to share!

Please make sure you print your ticket and bring it with you to ensure that everyone can get checked in expeditiously and can get to the breakfast tables quicker!

You will be e-mailed parking passes approximately 2 weeks prior to the conference. Please print that pass out and park in the designated areas. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged!

All conference handouts and resources are available via the button below. An access code will be e-mailed out along with the parking pass.

We regret to announce that we are sold out for our 21st annual mathematics day conference on October 5th, and our waitlist is full. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your interest and please keep an eye out for information regarding our 22nd annual conference. We will start accepting speaking proposals on October 10th, and will open up registration in April, 2018. Thank you.
