William & Mary Math Day
September 28th, 2018
Our 22nd annual Math Day Conference will be on September 28, 2018. The theme for this years conference is "Embracing Success for all Students" with emphases on using manipulatives with CRA, differentiation, equity, growth mindset, and process standards. The conference will be focused on grades K-8, but teachers of all levels are welcome to attend or present!
Featured Speakers: Dr. Sherry Parrish
Dr. Sherry Parrish is best described as “a teacher of teachers.” With over 35 years in the field of education, Sherry’s experiences as a classroom educator, university professor, and national and international speaker focus on teaching and learning mathematics through inquiry. A recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching, Dr. Parrish currently serves as an author and mathematics education consultant. She is the author of the AEP Distinguished Achievement award winning book, Number Talks: Helping Children Build Mental Math and Computation Strategies and the AEP Golden Lamp winner, Number Talks: Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages.
