Workshop Ideas/ When would be a good time? August/September

After solid discussion, it seems that we were most excited about the Co-teaching/Code 19 workshop idea (Teaming with T-TAC!), the new SOLs (particularly at the middle school level), and using manipulatives and the CRA model for conceptual understanding (included within is “fraction boot camp”.

Additionally, it was determined that providing these in August or September would be ideal. As would these workshops being clustered by grade level.

We will also look into alternative location in an attempt to keep a day long workshop cost to about $45. Possibilities include Mason School on the peninsula or a district location (rec center). Note: outside presenters must have insurance, timing may be an issue- outside the school year may be most convenient.

Additional upcoming events MOOC in teaching mathematics with technology, Dan Myer gives good ideas NC State and reminder about Math Day date change
